There Stood Still A Ship

This is sunrise over the Tole Mour, the tallship that belongs to our company (yes, it is pronounced as though you were saying my full name, Tully Rohrer). It’s quite a beautiful and commodious ship, and I’m dying to get some photos of it under full sail. They actually run marine biology programs off of it, taking kids out every week. It’s also been featured in a movie, though they decline to brag about that since the movie starred Rosie O’Donnell…
I don’t have anything interesting to say other than I really like this shot.

really articulate photograph, nice lighting and contrast. just found your blog through a friend excited to see more.
Nice job framing the shot on top and bottom with the light in the middle. I also like that you shot a bit from below (or at least it looks like you did) so that the sun is just catching over the top of the railing. it makes it look like the masts as well as the light are fading up into the sky.
My closest friend lived and worked on the Tole for three years and I always wondered what the ship looked like through his eyes, with this image, I finally know…. Thanks Tully.
