Return to the Sea

This is the first ever guest post on Optic Distraction. This photo was taken by Andy Balendy, a friend of mine from Catalina Island. One of Andy’s passions is underwater photography, and he’s mighty good at it, I might add. This is a green sea anenome and you can see the splash of orange color from a brittle star in the upper right corner. Hard to believe that this bizarre creature is an animal, eh? Many thanks to Andy for granting oD permission to publish his image.

Brilliant colors! How deep were you when this was taken and did you fire a flash? What a great capture!

Absolutely amazing.

I find it quite interesting how the colors in this shot are so similar to the colors in your Tears Could Rust a Train image from a few days before. Very cool.
