Return to Form

In our explorations of Silver Canyon Landing, Pete and I climbed up a 40-foot double peaked pinnacle jutting out of the ocean. The last 10 feet were covered in bird poop (see bottom right of photo), but it was still quite fun. Of course, this photo would be miles more interesting if Pete were climbing in climbing shoes instead of loafers, but whatever. That’s how he rolls.

Song of the Day: Handsome Furs - Sing! Captain
Dan Boeckner of Wolf Parade is set to release his Plague Park LP under the moniker Handsome Furs on May 22nd. I’ve heard most of the album, and I am quite impressed so far. It is much more toned-down than his work with Wolf Parade, but there is nothing wrong with that in this case. His “Beck meets Bruce Springsteen” vocals are exquisite on this track, which features synthesizers singing over a drum machine and a chorus of guitars. Good stuff - highly recommended.

loafers! wow. you managed to make this look super dangerous. i hope that law firm has an insurance policy on you pete…

Daredevils. I like to live vicariously through your photoblog. That way I don’t actually have to climb over bird poop myself. Well done Pete and Tully!
