that is a little depressing…powerful image though.

That’s an amazing shot. It really does what all photos should do in some sense, and that’s to tell a story. In this case, the photo is telling a particularly powerful and distressing story. Brilliant image and great choice with the black and white. One of my favorites from the whole website.

Really fantastic. I completely agree with ”Thom”, although I’m not sure who on earth Thom could be…one of the things I particularly like about the image, aside of course from the composition and the contrast and the story, is the fact that our minds assume immediately (without looking at the caption, obviously) that its the elephant in the cage, not the owner of that hand. When really, unless we pay specific attention to either the title or which way the hinges swing, it could just as easily be an elephant reaching into a caged human.
