Floating Upon the Surface for the Birds

This is some macrocystis (giant brown kelp) floating in the ocean off of Toyon Bay. The sun’s rays created some amazing contrast with the dark ocean below.

This is nice and simple. I like the way the plant creates a soft diagonal line which is enhanced by the stem that seems to glow.
