Again, the streets of Chelsea. Since seeing Donald Tetto’s Half and Half images, I’ve been interested in exploring split compositions such as this. While I normally prefer a diagonal split, I felt that a vertical was more appropriate for this scene.

the graffiti arrow pointing towards the other half of the photo adds to it for me. I also like how it says North Philly in a NY photo.

Have to agree with you, the split works really well. The graffiti detail adds much interest as do the people walking away.

Yo Justin. Tully told me about the site, and I’ve been perusing the archives. Really like this one and set it as my background in anticipation of my joining you in the Big Apple. Very urban-hip - reminds me of the cover of DJ Shadow’s Endtroducing, which is also urban-hip.
