California Sun Cascades

Nora and I successfully completed our circumnavigation of the island yesterday. It took us about 22 total hours of paddling over 3 days, and we were rewarded with two of the coolest, most remote, most pristine campsites I’ve ever seen. This is the sunset over Silver Canyon Landing, on the back side of Catalina. It was just about perfect, as you can see, with a perfect amount of driftwood for a nice fire to dry all of our clothes. I have never been a huge fan of kayaking (aside from whitewater)… but this journey was exceptional.

Wonderful colors!!!
